A couple of weeks ago, NARS Cosmetics announced they would do an Andy Warhol collection, pictures were leaked and the blogging world went mad! Mad I tell you! I saw a few pictures from blogger's events and online post about the collection, and I was genuinely excited. I've always been a massive fan of Andy Warhol and especially Edie Sedgwick. Edie Sedgwick is my Idol, she is amazing! I've seen Factory Girl a million times and even cut my hair into a short bob and dyed my hair Blonde (Biggest Mistake EVER).
After having a look on the Space NK website I decided that I need pretty much everything in the Andy Warhol collection. Sadly I can't afford everything and I thought I would limit myself to getting one thing (It's on my Christmas list already) and it's the Edie Sedgwick Set. At £54.00 it better be bloody worth it.
So this lunchtime I set myself a little challenge and I thought I would pop over to my local Space NK in St Albans and have a noisy at the product. There are 4 products in the Edie Sedgwick set
- Lipstick in Film Star
- Eyeshadow in Edie
- Eyeliner Stylo in Carpates
- Blusher duo in Deep Throat & Amour
All in all, I was impress with the set, the lipstick has a stunning Nude colour that I could imagine Edie wearing herself. The eyeliner is again spot on, to create the crease line that Edie was famous for, this eyeliner is perfect. It glides on your skin so finely that you don't need a lot of pressure to create the black crease. The blusher due is again stunning, NARS blushes are my favourite as they are so pigmented you only need a little product. Deep Throat is a NARS essential and has great colour payoff, and Amour gives your cheeks that wonderful natural rosy glow. When looking at the eyeshadow was a bit confused as to why they added this to the set but once I swatched it I knew exactly why. Most photographs of Edie are black and white, so no one really knew what she wore on here eyes bar the black crease line, but after doing a bit of research I found out that she loved off white eyeshadows. I thought it was nice of NARS to name the eyeshadow after Edie.
Overall I think the price and the products are great, and I hope NARS continues to bring out more collections like this.
P.S. Anyone noticed that NARS spelt Edie's surname wrong? Oops.
